BIO UNDER CONSTRUCTION

Dry Winds Guild is a wind-aligned clan of treasure hunters. These are dragons who would stride into the blackness of the night without an inkling of fear, in search of treasure that could be hiding on the other side of the horizon. They are a silent bunch who speak no words of their valiant quests. Yet, their stories spread like a glowing forest fire.

This guild has a calling to seek the unknown, rediscover the forgotten, conquer the untamed, vanquish those who stand in their way, and travel great distances with hearts sublime. We are a shamelessly greedy bunch...but is that not the nature of the dragon?

Dry Winds Guild is located deep within the Windswept Plateau; in a spiraling ravine where rushing torrents of wind billow through, carving out the fractured limestone bluffs. The stone is barren of dust, which is constantly thrown out by the strong wind. Above the canyon-like ravine, to the south and west, are rolling green moorlands. Below the ravine, to the north and east, the bluffs drop off in a sheer cliff into the Sea Of A Thousand Currents.

The churning ocean bubbles into a river which winds through the ravine. There is a flat outlook close to the river’s edge, constantly battered by water and wind. It's proven to be great training grounds for dragons serious about honing their strength. Along the cliffsides are precarious pathways which lead to the mouth of a cave. Clumsy fliers are discouraged from loitering within the ravine, less the swift gale pick them up and throw them out to sea. Clumps of bamboo have been planted throughout the territory, however, to provide relief from the wind.

Deep under the maize-colored stone is a series of cave systems, connected by dragon-made mineshafts. The abandoned mines are a leftover relic from a previous clan. It is within these caverns where the Dry Winds Guild makes its home.

There are three cave entrances into the lair: one at the crest of the limestone shelf, one within the ravine, and finally our main entrance--an easily accessible opening in one of the rolling hills that we call The Rise.

» The Mine

The members of Dry Winds guild have established their lair in this abandoned mineshaft. The cave system goes deep beneath the earth. We have carved out dens and rooms all throughout. Ah, be mindful of the winding tunnels, though. Lest you get lost.

» The Museum
Ah, you may be interested in guildmaster Ark's pride and joy, the Dry Wind's museum and library. That is where we store information and artifacts, for all to peruse.

» The Vault
Somewhere deep beneath us is our vault, where we store all of our most important treasure. Only a select few dragons know its whereabouts. I wouldn't try to find it, if I were you. Rumor has it that the lower levels of the mine are haunted.

» The Ravine

A spiraling ravine leading to the ocean. The wind batters it ferociously, making it the perfect place to test one's strength. The guildmembers who spend their time here are either training, patrolling the hazardous routes, or at the water's edge.

» The Moor

Outside the main entrance, the guild members are greeted by sweet-scented grass and rolling green hills. The moorland climbs up a wall of steep limestone deposits called The Rise. The horizon is dappled with patches of forest and bamboo groves, crisscrossed by babbling streams.

» Origins «

Our story starts with Ark, one of the founding members of Dry Winds Guild. You may not be surprised to find that our intelligent guildmaster was once a shy young fae. He found himself out on the outskirts of the Windswept Plateau, one day. While exploring the expanse of sweeping fields, Ark met Abyss. She, too, was a young fae, but unlike Ark, Abyss has always had a very big personality. She was a very cocky dragon despite the fact that she couldn't fly. Not too long before they had met, her wings had been burned to shreds by a band of horrible outlawish dragons.

Abyss wanted to get revenge on these outlaws, so she convinced Ark to help her. The two stuck together, but navigating the vast, windy plateau proved to be a challenge for the small dragons. On one stormy day, the two faes ran into a wildclaw named Monsoon who was trekking across the plateau. Monsoon is a bounty hunter, and it just so happened that he was looking to apprehend the very same outlaws who had attacked Abyss.

When he learned that the fae knew the whereabouts of the outlaws' lair, Monsoon was ecstatic. However, Abyss abruptly refused to tell him where it was unless he took both her and Ark there. Monsoon had no choice but to reluctantly accept the deal. The two faes climbed onto his shoulders and he resumed his quest.

The three continued journeying together for months, following Abyss's loose directions across the plateau. They stumbled through different venues, trying to track down the outlaws. Wild beastclanners attacked them countless times, and the three dragons had to learn to fight and cooperate together in order to survive. They grew stronger, both as dragons and as friends. Eventually, they came to see each other as family.

Finally, their journey came to a close when they reached the outlaws' lair. Strengthened by their time together in the wild, they easily took down the outlaws' together. Once the dragons were finally driven out of their lair and apprehended, Monsoon, Ark, and Abyss realized that their journey together was over. They no longer had to stay together...but they didn't want to leave each other. The three decided right then and there to start a clan, or rather a guild, together.

That's how Dry Winds Guild came into existence.
