One cold barrens night, Stone Weaver landed on this outcropping alone and began to dig. He dreamed of building a den worthy of the attention of his god, the great Earthshaker himself. As he dug on that first night, he heard the screeching of hippogriffs and a call for help. Stone Weaver rushed to battle and the arrival of his large dark shadow scared off the hippogriffs long enough to swoop in and sweep up the small form they had been picking on. Safely back in the shelter of his den, the small form unraveled itself to reveal a bright, exuberant fae named Earth Crown.

Without a thought towards the danger they just escaped, Earth Crown examined the Den with a critical eye and announced that "This will do." She promptly settled in and let Stone Weaver know they were going to be best friends now. Stone Weaver couldn't help but laugh, but just as she said, over the next week of working together on the den and chasing off hippogriffs, they did become fast friends.



As the weeks went by, between hunting trips into the Plain and market runs to the Colonnades of Antiquity, the two of them began to collect new friends to join them. The first was a pair of foundlings who had traveled all the way from the Sea of a Thousand Currents to see the Pillar of the World itself, Terracotta and Tart, and the siblings they met there who grew up in its shadow: Peridot and Olive. A brave Light spiral from the Hewn City found them next. She had named herself Molten and had come all the way to the Shattered Plain in search of adventure. Stone Weaver stumbled upon another pair of siblings who had lost their way traveling towards the Tangled Wood from their clan in the Crystalspine Reaches. Ore Spun and Bouris planned to only stay the one night, but then one became two and then a week and then a month and then they gave up the farce and announced they were staying. The last of their family was a lone fae named Dust Wreath from the Cairnstone Rest. He was a childhood friend of Earth Crown's and was ecstatic to meet her again.
