Welcome to Owl Wood, home of Clan Tearmann and the Edge of the Map Hatchery. This clan was founded by our matriarch, Iris, in April of 2014, and is guided by Iris and her first born, Taricha.

In Scottish Gaelic, Tearmann means "sanctuary," or "haven," and our clan has a close relationship with the birds and other animals who live in Owlwood. We are also Beastclan allies. Members of any Beastclan will find refuge here if needed.

Naming System: The names I give most of my dragons are based on binomial nomenclature, i.e. the scientific name for some bird, insect, plant or animal, usually one with similar coloration to the dragon. I am also adding some conservation information and fun facts about my dragons' namesakes, as I have time, along with the healing properties of the crystals and minerals. The bonsai arrangements were mostly designed by me, using assets created by Miirshroom.





I'm a wildlife biologist and university professor IRL, teaching biology and environmental studies. I am also a scientific illustrator and musician, and when I'm not working, I spend a lot of time playing video games (Pokemon Go and Flight Rising are my current favorites, along with Beat Saber VR), and watching horror movies with my young-adult son.
