His lower lip quivered again as he protested, "No, it is my fault. this is what always happens..." his voice trailed off and he swallowed audibly, blinking slowly as he tried to conceal the misting over of his eyes. He lifted his hand again and traced isa's cheekbones with it as he studied his face, taking a moment to seemingly gather himself before speaking again
"Why?" His voice broke on the words, and with it so did his expression, he looked completely and utterly broken, "Why does everyone I care about end up getting hurt?"
