@TheWorshipOnes Name: Avery Garcia Age: 17 Height: 5'1, XS, small build. Hair: Honey brown Eyes: Pale blue Gender: Female Species: Human (lol) Other: N/A Family: Father, Mother basically ran away, when he decided he wanted to be a pirate, and took Avery with him. Back Story: (Will add to the rp as it goes on) Piercings/Tattoos: Small tattoo on her wrist, and ears pierced, small regular piercings on her ears. Personality: A bit shy when it comes to meeting new people. Since she's the captain's daughter, everyone, well almost everyone shows respect towards the two of them. Nervous around others who show a dominant aura, and prefers to stay in the shadows, out of the way. But once she's comfortable, she's as ornery as can be, cracking jokes and everything. Few of the younger crew members are obviously sweet on her, but she avoids them, and is a bit naive when it comes to relationships. Her Father is protective, and only really let's specific crewmates around her, trying to protect her from everything, which she hates for the most part. Name: Kassian Gale Age: 19 Height: 5'10", lean/tall build Hair: Black Eyes: Pale turquoise Gender: Male Species: Human Other: Enjoys bitter food, classical music and has heavy thalassophobia. Family: His father, step-mother and six older sisters. Kassian is essentially the youngest member of the royal family. Backstory: (Will be revealed throughout story) Personality: Due to all the pressure on Kassian since he entered his teens, the young man tends to be highly uptight and easily angered. He knows a startling amount about diplomacy and politics, but knows very little (if anything) about combat or 'street smarts'. The only noticeable difference to him is when around someone he's fond of; he will visibly relax and speak with less of a stiff, royal cadence. ETC: Knows little to no combat. @ForeverTwilight

(Not sure if you want me to ping you or not, lmao)

"Hnngh...."

The groan escaped Kassian's lips, followed tightly by a stiff exhale through his teeth.

Everything hurt.

His head, his torso, even his legs; it felt like he'd been sedated and beaten over the back with a club. He knew keenly, despite his apparent condition, that there was a hard lump on the back of his head. Was I attacked?

As Kassian sat himself up, he could feel rough boards against the palms of his hands. A loose nail caught against the hem of his half-soaked dress shirt and tore a small hole.

"Where...?" It looked like a ship, obviously, but he had difficulty recalling how exactly he'd ended up here. The room, square in shape and divided in half with a set of rustic iron bars, kept Kassian from a staircase on the opposite side. The distant sound of seagulls and the soft rock of waves was the only sign of an outside in the dim, woode
cell.

And then he saw them. A pair of sailors, talking quietly amongst themselves, stood near the staircase. Kassian opened his mouth to speak a whisper.

"...Hello? Who's there? Where am I?"

His voice was stiff, angry and pained.

(Oh you don't have to if you don't want to, I'm subbed:)

"Let me go!" Avery yelped as the group of sailors parted, and the girl was shoved down below. "I never said I wanted to socialize, you're mean, Joshua!" She grumbled as she watched the group smirk, and simply leave her behind.

"Don't worry lass, we'll let ya' out when yur' Father, or should I say 'captain says so." The man so-called Joshua sent her a coy smile. "Jerk." She muttered, standing up and dusting herself off, momentraily going quiet when she realized, that she wasn't quite by herself anymore.

The seventeen-year-old quietly made her way around the room, lighting the torches that were fastened to the wall. She made great effort to avoid getting close to the cells, most of the prisoners kept there weren't trustworthy, but had strength she didn't have.

She stopped in front of Kassian's cell, her jaw dropped and eyes wide. "W-Who are you?" Avery stuttered, caught off guard. "Ouch~" The girl whimpered as she dropped the match that had burnt to the end before she stepped back. "I'm sorry, I'll uh leave you alone, I'm not supposed to talk to strangers, from what Dad said."

(Cool lmao)
"W-wait, wait! Stay put!" Kassian extended his hand, shuffling his way over to his cell bars. Several other below deck prisoners had begun to stir at the sudden outbursts of noise, staring ominously at Avery from behind rusty iron cages.

Kassian's face grew almost pitiful; as if he were a scared, pained child. He opened his mouth to speak.

"Where, in the LOVE OF THE GODS, am I, peasent?" Instead of a meek, scared tone, the young man's voice grew rather threatening. Despite his... thin stature, he stood as though he thought himself scary.

"Tell me! By the royal blood, I demand to know where and why I'm being held!"

The small prince finally dragged himself to the bars and gave them a hard rattle. His eyes, pale turquoise and sharp, stared razors at Avery. It was a look of hard, privileged fury that only a high-ranked blue blood could give.

Kassian posed the question a second time upon not getting a quick enough answer.

"I demand to know WHO has captured me and WHY!"

"Peasant?" Avery squealed in surprise. "I look like a peasant?" Her jaw dropped again as she reflected his question again. The girl stepped backwards, still surprised, his aura had changed dramatically.

"L-Listen I don't know, a-all I know is you're here for ransom but I'm not in charge!" Her voice was soft and quiet, having a bit of a childish lilt to it still. The girl's eyes remained wide, still caught off guard.

"I-i'm S-Sorry you're here I- it's n-not my fault." She swallowed hard as she stepped away from the cells, which were in rows and lines, and if one was too close to the rather violent and aggressive prisoners, things tended to happen.

"B-But-I can't let you go because we haven't d-docked yet?" The girl's voice cracked, she was obviously nervous, unsure and a bit overwhelmed. She hadn't ever really talked to a personee before, this was scary, for the most part.

"Y-You're in the middle of the ocean, on a ship?" Stuttering, her quickly glanced around the room, trying to avoid the gazes of the other captives.

I need to calm down. Kassian gave a short snort of frustration, running his hands through his hair to straighten loose strands. Even now the boy was grooming his appearance.

"Just— s-stay put, a second, alright? Calm down." Adopting a much more approachable tone, the young man grippef obto the bars of his cell again, doing his best to ignore the stares of the other, much larger, prisoners. Something about the knoelwedge that he wasn't the only captive here did nothing to ease his worries.

"I have two questions. One, who in God's blood are you? And two, am I being held for ransom?" Gahh. We knew I might be captured on that trip, but not like this. Especially not by pirates! I can't even recall how they managed to ambush the travel caravan. They'd probably snuck up on the group while camping for the night, seeing as that was the last thing Kassian could recall before awakening on the rocking, rickety old boat. They definitely hit my head pretty hard, though... The hard lump near his nape was going to be there for awhile.

Peering at Avery through the bars, Kassian gripped the iron a bit harder. It was clear he was trying to situate his anger to avoid snapping at her again; growing rather impatient in record time.

"W-Well I'm A-Avery, and I'm the captain's daughter?" Averys eyes were still wide as she stuttered, still sitting flat on her but from stumbling and tripping backwards.

"I don't come here unless I have to, simply uh because I misbehaved in my dad's eyes so he forced me to come down here." She smiled shyly before she shook her head.
"I simply do what I'm told no more no less."

"I dunno why you're here, Dad prolly knows." She shook her head. "I never wanted to be a pirate, shoulda left with mom."

"Who are you?"

"...Kassian." The young man said hesitantly, eyes half-closed to peer at Avery better from his cell. His eyes seemed to be scanning every pore on her face— every scar and dent on her skin. Even his pupils narrowed in concentration as the prince burned the pirate youth to memory.

"You're rather naive, for a pirate."

He spoke with a disdained snort. Pulling at his prisoner rags, Kassian began to groom himself, trying to straighten his hair and remove bits of dust from his arms. He seemed to have tempered his irritation somewhat. "Wouldn't you be down here all the time if you're part of a— gahh, nevermind. I don't have time to get a stranger's life story." The young prince gripped the cage bars.

"You. Avery, peasant— whatever— get me out of here. Unlock my cell and I may yet spare you all when my parents hear of this."

"I'll have you know, I'm the Captain's daughter, and I'm NOT letting you say that." Avery tried to appear brave as she swallowed hard, still nervous.

"Yeah, you don't need to know anything about me. I can't let you out, there's no where for you to go." She shrugged. "We left the docks, we're gone. I'm sorry but I'll help you get home when we dock, okay?"

The girl looked at Kassian, curious. "I'll help you, why not?"
