A faint smell of charred fur came from the gaoler as he approached, though it was hard to tell which parts of his fur could've been burnt thanks to his already dark coloration. If one didn't know better, they could've believed that he had healed and regrown the fur lost in such a short period of time, but that was impossible...right?
At least he seemed to be in a better mood than usual, by the looks of it, though it would be tricky to put one's claw on why.
He pulled the leather and bone bag yet again, which had some small burn marks and a couple of new mendings here and there from being carried somewhere it was apparently not crafted to handle properly. After looking at the contents inside, he grabbed large handfuls of items and dropped them on the pile before the Obelisk "Here, this probably should do..."

She walked in behind the gaoler, claws busy trying to mend some ripped or burned spots on the edges of her white lab coat, barely paying attention right now, a needle made from what appeared to be a small critter's bone being her main tool in this endeavor.
She was mumbling under her breath, low enough for her words to become little more than incomprehensible babbling to anyone passing by. She didn't appear to be in a bad mood, though, simply hyper-fixated on the task at hand.

"You there." she says, pointing at you with her tail. "You are the help I've been promised?"
You nod.
"I am the chef charged with planning meals for tomorrow's feast. Be a dear and locate for me some Draconic recipes while I coordinate the gathering of basic ingredients."
Before you can respond another worm runs up with some sort of urgent message. You silently excuse yourself.

“Let’s start with the simple ones,” he tells you as he hands you the first leather bound volume.
