I have an orca dragon that I would like to name after the (transient) Bigg's Orca T063 aka "Chainsaw" - but the name is not allowed. Why? Is there some sort of slur in there that I'm not aware of?
By all accounts, I don't think a tool used for cutting down trees should be banned from a website where you can have a rusted, toothed cleaver as a weapon?

I just want to know the exact reason why this word is banned, because theoretically it would absolutely fall in line with the extent to which Flight Rising's own content would go. We have other tools like ice picks, spanners, spades and shovels - some of which, if weaponized, could severely hurt someone.
We also have more severe weapons on offer, both old and new. Kusarigama, flaming swords, kunai, poison daggers, claws, crossbows, spears etc.
I fail to see how 'Chainsaw' is taking it too far in that regard. So is there another reason?

Getting an exact answer is highly unlikely as that seems to only fuel more bad behavior based on what I've seen on other sites. My personal guess is because of the movie franchise. Have you considered Zorro instead?

Have you checked the Gem MP for Gene and Breed scrolls before buying an AH listing from me ending in 5g?
@Nightwind I did consider Zorro, but I'm not from Alaska so that name is not the one my own community uses to refer to him in our waters. Chainsaw has kind of a cult following here so to use a name a different community uses feels a bit sad.

Glad to help shed a little light. Orcas around where I live are wearing salmon hats again so there's no way I could try that with a dragon. Fashion is weird.

@Kuzuryushin you can actually submit a support ticket to have a name reevaluated for allowance back into the naming pool. i did that with the name "disease" because i was trying to name my plague primal's familiar that and it was banned - but infection and virus weren't, so it felt kind of ironic/hypocritical. it was recently repealed so now it can be used!
support > contact us > select category "other" > then just briefly explain what you're trying to do and that you'd like to see if the ban on the name can be lifted
they may not actually answer you (my support ticket's been "open" for 4 months) and just change the status of the name, so submit it, wait a bit, and keep checking to see if it works
