I do love how FR doesn't punish taking things slow in any way. Or just deciding not to do a thing! My progens are triple basic and probably will be forever haha

Flight Rising is the kind of game where I think you can never be 'behind'. Each person has their own goals, projects, dreams, and tastes, and it's fine to take your time on achieving them.
I only got into long-term projects around 2022, and I joined somewhere around 2018/2019? You're fine!

I started playing FR january 2018. I didn't gene change a single dragon before 2024.
I've also struggled with the feeling of "being behind", but honestly? who cares. the only right way to play a game is to do it in a way that YOU enjoy.

Don't sweat it. There isn't a set end goal that everyone can agree on, where getting closer to it equals closer to the finish line. There are goals that yes, require more time investment because of the in game cost, but ultimately, different people find value in different playstyles, which makes it hard to define who would be ahead or behind.
In my perspective, back when I cared about that kind of stuff - I always thought the "richest" users were those who had the most aesthetically pleasing lairs with nicely written bios and art. I never paid attention to who had the most impressive breeding, gene projects, or limited items. Or maybe I did, but I can't remember that anymore. If it makes you feel better, I've been registered for almost 10 years and I've accomplished nothing of note monetarily in game. I am still satisfied with my account though because my dragons are friends that a teenage me valued and spent time with. Even though none of my dragons are worth much, almost my whole lair was bought at fodder floor back then, I consider the value of them priceless.
The only real goal in a game is to have fun, so I think whoever is ahead are people who are enjoying themselves the most.

I use any pronouns. Please ping me when replying, I won't see it otherwise!
i wouldnt worry at all about being "behind" , not really a term that exists in this game, heck im here years and have yet to gene a single dragon lol
If you're behind, I'm in dead last, haha! Still haven't gotten around to geneing up my random progen, and I've been here since the public launch of the site - Only just got around to my custom a couple months ago, too! We all go at our own paces :p

I made my first account and I only need an eye type to finish my current project (which is Jade). No you are not late.
