Current thoughts: I love them! The male pose is my absolute favourite, I think it is so dynamic and beautiful. A lot of people seem to compare it to the male Undertide pose but I actually really dislike that one- I'd be more inclined to compare them to female Imperials if anything? And the hatchlings are so cute oh my god I want to scoop them up and squish them. Little meowmeows, actually. <3
The lil spike nubbins look fine in the official poses so that's a relief, and the segmented wings look SO SICK on the male pose I am obsessed. I love the frills and fins and stubby legs and webbed feet and just UGH I really enjoy this design. Even the weird little ear horn things are cute. I'm so excited to scry and acquire some for my main lair!! :D

Girl same, I can't believe the general consensus is that the female pose is superior. Like what. Hello? Have you seen how secondaries get displayed on the male wings and fins/frills?

I love them! I'm enjoying being able to actually dress up a new breed for the first time in a while! I really like the poses on these guys, they just feel really nice!

I'd like them a lot more if Modern breeds got the Sailfin, Marlin, and Augment genes.

It honestly was beautifully bold, like trying to save an ice cube from the cold.
The male pose is everything!!! Love how dynamic it is! Also the hatchling is def one of my fave hatchling designs now (probs only behind snappers and coatls)

Much, much better than my initial impression!
The Fathoms during the dive were too cartoony and slim for my taste, and Merrigan reminded me way too much of Bogsneaks (whom I love, but I don't want a look-alike breed) so I'm extremely happy to see the breed art isn't like that at all. These are much more muscular and realistic, which I like.
I'm extremely happy Water got the next modern, they deserve it. I love guardians but out of all the moderns I feel they have the weakest connection to their element (understandable since they're kind of the "generic dragon" of the site). Now Water has their classic modern, a proper water modern and a sea snake ancient. It's hard to ask for a better line-up.

the male pose is undertide with legs, the female pose is banescale with legs, the hatchling is aether without fur or legs. i'll probably warm up to them later when everyone has them. i guess this is a cool breed for when you want to dress up an undertide or a banescale...
they kinda look like they should be undertides' ancestors, this is just the same guy 2mil years apart.
