All plague dragons mutate as they get older with chances starting at two days old, they can only do this in a Plague lair and can mutate up the ten times, but there's a chance they could mutate something harmful (Like an second heart outside of their body.) This includes the conjoined mutation which conjoins two dragons beside each other. If this happens to two imperials they turn into an Emperor and take up ten lair space. Mutations can be reversed if you have a purify scroll which costs 100 gems.
And if you have a mutated dragon in a none- plague lair the mutations will fall off. Conjoined and fatal mutations auto exalt when this happens. You can't get them back. This counts if you're changing flights too! :)

Oof, if that happened there would be so much drama and accusing the mods of hating Plague flight D:

That's already happening, so...
On the other hand it's an interesting concept. It would be difficult to implement visual ones though. All mutations should happen when they first hatch (especially conjoined). Again, on the slight chance it were to be implemented, they wouldn't be able to wear any apparel (like ancients)
But on the positive the mutations could vary from flight to flight. Like.. 1-3 flight specific ones and 1-3 all-flight mutations.

Idk, if it was suggested or not, but...
Dragons with heterochromia.
Now there is a chance of 5-10% to get a hatchling with heterochromia, if their parents element was different from your clan's one. 5% if both parents have different elements (like, if we breed an arcane and wind derg in water clan, there will be a 5% chance of water-arcane, and 5% chance of water-wind hatchling); and 10% if both of parents have the same element, different from clan's one.

So just 5% then if you had, say, an arcane-ice pairing in an arcane nest.

In Dragon Cave (another dragon site for those who don't know), there is something very similar to your idea of a mutated dragon! In Dragon Cave, eggs hatch by getting enough clicks/views over a certain amount of time. If it doesn't get enough clicks, it will get sick and die. But if gets sick and then suddenly gets a bunch of clicks right before its time runs out, a Neglected Dragon will hatch, which is something a lot of players want.
Just imagine how many people on fr would keep letting their eggs rot in order to get a mutated dragon, lol. Extra points if they do it during Riot of Rot.

I made this signature just for the achievement.
