Hate to say it, but I kind of agree. Don't get me wrong, I love what this means for trans dragons, but I don't think a simple art switch is worth being in gem marketplace. Now, if there was an item that changed the gender of the dragon and let them breed, THAT would be worth good money I think.
So yeah, I just don't feel like an art change that has zero function is worth all that.

Yeah this isn't a paywall guys. You need to stop using that accusation so carelessly. FR gives you a gem a day for free, and there are zero restrictions on trading gems for treasure. Accessing premium currency on FR is so much easier than on any other site I've ever tried. I'm an old player, so I get that I've had time and good fortune on my side, but I have over 10,000 gems in my vault and I've never spent a dime of real money here. Gripe about the item being expensive if you like, but you can't claim it's "behind a paywall".

All accents can be available to your dragon now. Find a perfect skin but your dragon is the wrong gender? Now you can change that. Love how genes look on a spiral but you dont like female spirals? now you can make them a male spiral. Some genes just dont look good on certain species as a m or f pose. You can change that now. Same deal with apparel. It saves dragons- its a powerful little item that's absolutely worth the price.
400g is not expensive. Baldwins is easy money, so is foddering, so is a levelling service, cauldron service, grinding service. Selling materials for swipps, baldwins, did you know purple sludge goes for 25g a pop? thats a decent chunk of cash! Theres tons of ways to make money without a skill like being an artist or writer- you just have to put a little effort in.
And if its not worth the price to you, just don't buy it. No one's forcing you to buy a feature that you don't care about. But now, if you ever think; Wow, this dragon would be fantastic as a male Spiral! You can make it happen.
