I sniped 70% of my oldies from dom battle fodder floor prices. I love each one of them, my avatar dragon was one of the first ones I got. She's about to turn five!

Dom battles are good for this, all the normal dragons have been sold and people are squinting at their pretties and weighing them against 17-20g.
I've picked up some beautiful dragons even at normal fodder prices though, triple gem gened and nice colors ain't worth what it used to be. Sometimes they become semi permas but there are SO MANY out there they rarely stay for long.
My favorite fodder than became a perma:

I'm more likely to stick with an unusual combo that appeals to me than anything traditionally 'pretty'.
