My cheeks puffed up SO BAD. It was like, worried about the skin splitting, bad.

TOPIC | Anyone whose had wisdom teeth removed
Well, the process of getting my lower wisdom teeth removed is something to write about... see, mine did not grow in the way they were supposed to... instead, they grew in rotated by 90 degrees towards the inside of my mouth - they were completely sideways.
I got local anesthesia - which in my case, always takes a while to kick in, and the doc even had to put in more after the first shot because I still had feeling left - and then the doc had to cut each of my wisdom teeth in like three or four slices and then yank them out because there was no way the teeth would have come out any other way. That was FUN.
Truth be told though, the doc was really quick about it and kept the ordeal to less than 45 minutes, which, I've gotta say, is pretty much record time for that kind of operation.
directly afterwards, I did look like I was having a hangover AND had been punched in the jaw multiple times, couldn't speak for four hours, and ended up sleeping the rest of the day. That's kinda normal for me, it's just how I react to local anesthesia leaving my body.
Recovery was 1~2 weeks. It was only really painful for like the first week or so, but I could still feel it at the end of week two, but by that point, it was just a slight nuisance.
It still feels a bit awkward sometimes, but it doesn't bother me anymore.

It was annoying and uncomfortable, but not painful for me. Then again, I slept most of the time...

my recovery...kind of sucked. esp after the surgery when the medication wore off. the pain was terrible and i was still bleeding and drooled a lot. thankfully it was winter break so i had time to relax and sleep. my brother didn't live with us at the time either so it was just peace and quiet.
i wasn't able to have solid food and cleaning the holes was really, really gross. i can stomach a lot but food in human mouths are evil and nasty af. i hated it but i'm glad they're gone. they were messing up my pretty teeth.
i got dry socket too in one so that was fun. my dental luck was terrible. also got a root canal like a month after that was kind of traumatizing.

Ohhh I remember just being kinda zonked out due to the painkillers they had me on. I didnt want to dry socket so I kept away from straws and ate only when I really needed to (or when my mom got worried) so I could keep the mouth rinses to a minimum. I played a lot of games and watched a fair bit of movies. The healing process went pretty smoothly considering I got all 4 out at the same time.
I basically lived on popsicles and scrambled eggs.

Oh man, my recovery was mixed. I slept a lot, which I loved, but eating was a pain. My mouth had blisters and my cheeks were so swollen that I bit on them each time I ate something. I lived off of applesauce then. It was all nice until my mom put too much cinnamon in one time and it burned so bad that I almost cried.
Also, I was so obsessed with making sure the holes were cleaned. I probably spent a half an hour making sure everything was out of them.
One thing that did happen during surgery was the hooks that held my mouth open (I was thankfully knocked out during the whole process) slipped and cut the side of my mouth. I had a scab on there for about a week until I went back for a checkup and the surgeon (idk if this is the right word) just... wiped it off with diluted Peroxide. I guess it dissolved it or something but that was cool. I have a small scar there now, but nobody notices it unless I point it out to them.

I had mine out when I was 16, a week before school started. When I went in, I was mostly terrified and angry because I wasn't allowed to eat for 12 hours before, which sucked. I was terrified because I had never had a surgery.
When I went in, they put a mask on me and told me to breathe deeply. I did, and I was out almost instantly. When I woke up I had gauze in my mouth. My first thought was "I'm in a different room. Don't say anything stupid!" I got given some ginger ale, and when my head cleared I got up and went to my mom. Apparently it only took 20 minutes.
No funny stories, I was very clear headed afterwards. I went home and put an ice pack on either side of my face for 15 minutes and switched back and forth for the rest of the day. I played on my 3DS. I never needed their strong meds they gave me, just normal strength advil was fine. I was able to (mostly) eat normal food after the first week. What sucked the most imo was flushing the 'holes' out after I ate.
Don't eat broccoli for like a month after. Just don't.

I had mine out maybe a year ago? They knocked me out cold for it, thankfully, woke up numb and a little woozy, but it was gone and I was normal in five minutes or so. Once the numbness wore off I was just weirded out by the fact that there were holes in my mouth; there was one bit of pain when I accidentally jabbed it but otherwise, nothing. I got some kind of apple juice that to this day remains my favorite brand, so there's that XD

Honestly, I... don't really remember? I had to get them out earlier than most people (age 12) so that they wouldn't have a chance to interfere with my teeth, since I was almost done with braces. All I really remember is feeling either sore or numb in the mouth for the next five days or so. My mom keeps a lot of medicine in the house, so I'm pretty sure I was just coasting along on ibuprofen for most of the time. Eating hurt a little bit, but I remember mostly mac and cheese and milkshakes, so??? It wasn't that bad, I guess.

I got my wisdom teeth removed two at a time. One time, my dentist was a little off the mark with his (local) anesthetic and I wasn't completely numb to them cutting and jostling my tooth out of my gums. It was pretty painful, but the dentist was good at it, so fortunately it was over quickly (like within 10-15 minutes, it felt like).
The other time, the anesthetic was duly applied so I didn't feel any pain but I could feel the dentist sawing into my tooth like a steak. He wasn't very good at it... I felt like a piece of meat lmao Dx
