Marine life is so interesting. I yearn to learn more about the sea, but we've barely explored any of it.

 • Christmas tree worms
 • Bornean Yellow Muntjac
 • Petrophila daemonalis

I think clouded leopards are pretty cool. They can climb down from trees headfirst because their ankles are super flexible. (My roommate doesn't know what it is so I guess it's at least a little uncommon)

I was going to say fossa but someone beat me!

The margay is like a tiny ocelot and can hang upside down from branches by its back paws.

Jaguarundi look similar to fossa but are true felines. Cool critters all around!

I absolutely love Sand Cats, also sometimes known as Sand Dune Cats. They are a small, wild cat that is incredibly rare. They are solitary cats that are found in Africa. The adults look like kittens, and the kittens look like smaller kittens. Also, coati mundis are adorable. Whenever these threads show up, I have to show off the goblin babies! Red river hogs are among my favorite animals, look how cute they are! And of course, I have to include a few neat monkeys too! I think everyone's familiar with the praying mantis, but there are a lot of species outside of the familiar Carolina and Chinese Mantises (those are the most common species in the US, at least) This guy is a ghost mantis. It wants you to think it's made of leaves. They have some of the coolest faces in the animal kingdom imo. I think orchid mantises are starting to be a bit more well-known, but I'd be remiss not to mention them here anyways. They're much less conspicuous than you'd expect when they're hiding among the flowers that give them their name. Finally, maybe my favorite insect, the Devil's Flower Mantis! Look at this thing. They also have incredible threat displays. There are tons of other cool mantis species (and other animals tbh) that I would add, but it's late and I don't want to spam up the thread. Go look them up though! Also I'm by no means an insect expert - I just read stuff on wikipedia sometimes, so if I misidentified anything or you have some info to add, lemme know!
