The idea of a dragon that has a massive dense coat in the winter and a still largely fluffy coat on the summer sounds like it'd be perfect, but it just somehow doesn't truly work for me. I think it's the faces. They're too happy. Have they seen the price of eggs ???

Maybe if they were a little more fluffy and feathery, they'd read as birds; even sleeker birds get a significant amount of additional volume from their feathers. Skydancers are more "dragons with a couple bird features", or perhaps "birds with no feathers on their bodies", hehe. I still like them, personally!

Sleek breed with two big sails on the back with a tough-looking face and has cool, unique genes that look amazing? I tried Sandsurges, but it's really hard to make them work for me. I own a single perma and that's because I hatched her on 2/29. But otherwise the breed is hard to get into, especially the male pose. The lack of good, interesting, accessible skins for a breed that can't be dressed up also doesn't help.

nocturnes. in particular I love the f pose silhouette, it's so dynamic and whooshy. but the wings are so narrow they don't display a lot of secondaries well, and don't have a lot of room for apparel or cinematic-style skins. so despite liking them in theory, I usually end up scrying as something else.

Ridgebacks, especially the F pose. I like that they’re Lightning and their seafood diet / aquaphobia dichotomy is cool to explore, and their face shape is nice (love a good snoot!), but…the M pose is so stiff and the F pose gives me scoliosis

Aether - love a lot about it ... can't do the tails on the male. Too buggy.
Everluxes - I love some of the color schemes and the really furry genes make for a super cool concept. Not buying into the execution of it yet.
Banescales - had the opportunity to be really neat, but they come across as an ultra generic wyvern to me. Just not exciting.
Gaoler - this is the biggest one for me. I love SO much about them, but the emo-esque style of hiding the entire face behind hair doesn't do it for me (I want to see the face of my dragon!). And the super chunky wing arms make it hard to visually read. Like the wing part, wish the arm was thinner or the pose did better to emphasize that the wing is just really long fingers.
I also wish pearlcatchers did more with the eastern dragon concept. They don't read to me as eastern inspired at all. They look like a generic western dragon someone gave a giant pearl to, and they just don't compel me anymore.

but yeah, agreed on that one. On paper they are the breed for Me but in real life they're just eh.
Also, Spirals. They're more of a "I thought I'd love them but don't" situation but when I first saw spirals, I thought "I'm going to love this breed" and ended up just... not clicking with them? They have such mischievous faces and personalities but alas...

Snappers. I like the idea of a big tanky breed but their poses aren't very nice to dress and most genes don't look as good on them. However, the hatchlings are perfect, no notes
