Darn, I should have gotten extras of everything. That's ok though, I really like some of these!
It is good they are added to the shop and more can be purchased later!
i'm glad they're selling well at least LOL. i'll never use any of them. i'm not sure why i'd ever want my dragons to look.....worse. i'm sure they're good for a particular kind of lore i don't have.
I sell all the extras as well! Good money!

Seeing these effects genuinely turned me from someone who was kinda iffy on the effect concept as a whole into someone who thinks that effects are one of the coolest features ever added to fr.

These are all so awesome I need 50 of each
They're not my cup of tea since I don't use effects, and all of these ones with the sole exception of Diffused Dither hurt my eyes and head a lot, especially Patterned Pixels. I'm glad a lot of people are excited about them though! I just really wish there was a toggle to disable effects altogether (at least certain ones?) because I feel like this could be a bit of a hazard to people with possibly even worse disabilities than photophobia like I've got clicking on what looks like a normal dragon in lair view, only to have one of these unexpectedly pop up. I can't look at these at all so I have to just try to scroll really quickly past dragons that have them, but I unfortunately can't do that until I've already seen them. It just seems like a big accessibility issue with how eyestrainy these are ^^" I mean no hate toward those who enjoy and use them though! It's a feature of the site meant for users who enjoy them to do exactly that! I'm just hoping the devs make it more accessible to those who have a difficult time with them so that the site is comfortable for everyone, since right now they're completely unavoidable ^^"
I understand! Patterned Pixels is particularly saturated. It is difficult to look at. Perhaps there is some plans to make them more eye friendly in the works.
new marva effects are amazing, although as an eyeburner enjoyer I don't intend to use them on anything but fandragons. they are very cool but the whole notion of effects messes with my perception of dragons as characters / natural creatures; like, I can't envision them...looking like that as anything but pixel abstractions. so my effect usage is going to be reserved for fandragons and more abstract beings like XINANIS, because it messes with my suspension of disbelief. although the exarchate and nightcored realm dragons with patterned pixels are an absolute delight. Also, I can't in good conscience feel like I can responsibly use Patterned Pixels given how incredibly eyestrain-inducing it is until there's a feature to filter it. I like bright colors a lot, but I don't want to hurt anybody, especially since it's not visible from the lair page so can jumpscare someone expecting a normal, even eyeburny dragon. And stylistically, I can't take Patterned Pixels seriously. Like, I can't see myself using it even though it would hypothetically make sense on something like CORRUPTION or Edgecrafter because they're supposed to be majestic, mysterious deities who do some reality-glitching stuff, but they're still supposed to look visually appealing in an overwhelming way, not just overwhelming. Patterned Pixels just makes me think of deep-fried "dank memes" and it doesn't...look good unless you're going for that. Again, suspension of disbelief. It makes them stop looking like dragons and start looking like pixels. Which is great for things that are supposed to be pixels, but I can't see myself ever using these on anything that wasn't a fandragon or otherwise abstract. Anyway, Sixteen Bit and Boot Dragon look neat on my void dragons and techy / retro fandragons. Sixteen's probably my favorite, although I think Cathode also has a lot of potential.
I understand! They can be difficult to use because all the new effects are over the dragon. Have to find creative uses for them!
there needs to be more option around these. for some I do not mind their effects don't show up (like dither, it is subtile) but for some I would like to show up in lair view (like 16bit). but I guess that would be too much toggles/settings around. when these effects got introduced I did thought at least static would show up in lair because like this, it is bit weird I DO wish there was toggle, BOTH all around effects and individual dragons. sometimes I look at lair and would like to see dragon without them because they are a lot to look at, and while I do have some on my own dragon for "vibes" I would like to see them without sometimes. disabling specific effect but not some others (I would disable screen ones but not dither, for example) would be really nice too but ehh I still only REALLYYY like dither and cathode is close enough that I like it a lot. numerical noise is fun but I find it bit too extra for me personaly (I in general don't like pure black and white images, bitmap and so. they are harsh on eyes. I did some manga tone on my own art for fun and these... no. better left on paper. or done in style fitting for those). I used patterned pixels on sort of joke dragon but TV ones? not for me. I would prefer (maybe) just effect without TV because dragon in TV? kinda too silly
Yeah! I like some of them as well and others not that much. I haven't found use for the ones I like yet.

God all of these effects are so FUN! I'm going to need an excuse to use them because the potential is insane.
I already dislike Stained because it changes the dragon's natural vibrancy too much. I'll give it a few days to work with them, but I can't see me using a single one. Static effects as a concept are disappointing to me, here I thought the entire draw was the animation? Oh well, judging from all the positive comments I'll be able to make some good money from them so it's fine. I am happy to see other people learning to like effects now even though these are a full 180 from the ones that I like. =P
I understand! I believe we will see more different effects now that we have both dynamic and static effects.
