The first egg I hatched was lapis and terracotta, of all things. I'm generally fine with XYZs and unusual color schemes—I like my dragons varied and colorful, for the most part!—but that was a little much, even for me. I was sure I was going to swap him and keep the other, more conventionally-appealing male I hatched instead...

...but thanks to display and parade, [i]he actually matches[/i]. Lapis and terracotta. How. Literal sorcery. Even the abyss tertiary works since it's not far off lapis's claw accent color, though I'm probably just gonna stick with spines because how could I possibly cover up this bizarro little miracle.
Ended up swapping the other male and got this lady! Absolutely still WIP, but I think she'll look pretty good with lode and petrified (or pinstripe, which I think looks [i]slightly[/i] better but is far less thematic), and hopefully rockbreaker once they get it in November. (The rockbreaker in the image below is photoshopped from a sandsurge with the same tert color just to test out how it might look! Assuming it doesn't end up wildly different, navy rb actually goes pretty well with dust lode...)

Some absolutely incredible dusties in this thread! Love these little baldies~

then i bought this lady because her primary color is one off from his and i've always wanted a g1 breeding pair!! she might take a bit to finish tho because i spent all my gems on my first dustie lol

There are so many lovely Dusthides here! To contribute, here are my two clanbound hatchmates, Damson and Sedimeos! I honestly adore them both, and I enjoy the vastly different feelings they each exude.

^ Damson is my lovely horror-plum! He still needs his primary and secondary(Pinstripe and Weaver), which I’m working on acquiring. I haven’t decided on any lore for him yet, but he seems paranormal in some way. A little thing I find pretty cool about him is that he was the first nature primal Dusthide to be hatched on release day!
