@wintermouse I hope you don't mind me pinging you here/for this. If you do, I apologize! I have just discovered these delightful pixels and am trying to format myself a cute signature, but I am having a problem you seem to have solved. I'm hoping you can help me! In your signature, you have your coffee and tea jars on top of the three horizontal books. HOW did you do this? I [i]cannot[/i] figure it out. @Wildehearted Not a problem at all! It's a line height thing. It'll sit on the vertical books with lots of spacing, but it won't sit on the horizontal books without exporting both images and combining them manually then saving them somewhere like imgur and using that code instead (which is what I did). That also allowed me to space things a little closer and have overlapping icons like the hanging pieces.

Unfortunately, dreamingcity is no longer active! (at least as far as I'm aware) I started second-guessing myself there, as far as I can tell their last activity was in May of this year? someone can correct me if I'm wrong. For everything you need to know about bbcode and using the images in layouts though, I'd highly recommend this forum guide! There are a lot of guides out there, but that one is my favourite because of how it gradually builds on itself and even recommends some practice activities to check your knowledge along the way.

It definitely takes some practice, I'm finding new ways to do things all the time! Lots of people have helpful tips and tricks, but that guide is excellent, and my favorite go-to as well. Good luck with your signature!

The basic thing to know is that you need to copy the [b]image address[/b] of the image you want by right-clicking. to insert an image you can then click the [img]https://www1.flightrising.com/static/forum_icons/bbcode/forum_image.gif[/img] button in the text editor and paste the link there, or just put the image tags [ img ] and [ /img ] on either end of the URL yourself (without the spaces). That looks like this: [code][img]https://i.imgur.com/ygWzlbs.png[/img][/code] The other important thing is that artists often require their work to be credited by being linked back to their posts or lairs - to do that you need to insert the image into a url. Sounds scary but it's pretty easy in practice! You create a url either by clicking this button in the text editor: [img]https://www1.flightrising.com/static/forum_icons/bbcode/forum_link.gif[/img] and pasting the url you want in there, or by putting the url tags on yourself. It works a little different from the img tags but its not hard! Say if I wanted to create this link that links back to the front page of this forum: [ url=https://www1.flightrising.com/forums/cc/2817534 ] dreaming city pixels [ /url ] That link creates a custom text message for your link, like this -> [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/forums/cc/2817534]dreaming city pixels[/url] To make an image link back, you just take the image link we made above and put in where I've written 'dreaming city pixels' above. In practice, that looks like this: [code][url=https://www1.flightrising.com/forums/cc/2817534][img]https://i.imgur.com/ygWzlbs.png[/img][/url][/code] To separate it out by color, we have our url tags in blue and our image tags in red, just so you can see where they start and end. [color=red][ url=https://www1.flightrising.com/forums/cc/2817534 ][/color][color=blue][ img ]https://i.imgur.com/ygWzlbs.png[ /img ][/color][color=red][ /url ][/color] Essentially, it's URL > IMG > /IMG > /URL If i take out the spaces, that code creates this image which should take you right to the start of this forum when you click it: [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/forums/cc/2817534][img]https://i.imgur.com/ygWzlbs.png[/img][/url] The final result in plain code: [code][url=https://www1.flightrising.com/forums/cc/2817534][img]https://i.imgur.com/ygWzlbs.png[/img][/url][/code] Hopefully something in here helped you understand, I've never tried to explain this to someone when not in person lol.
