I have to say, I like the tertiary very much, especially for the Undertides <3 But.... can it be possible, that the part on the back wing got forgotten? On Undertides and female Dusthides. Male dusthides as well as all hatchlings definitely have the gene on both wings. Theoretically you should see part of wavecrest on the backwing too, even if most is hidden by the body - they extend farther than the wing does. Dusthides are a burrowing species - delicate stuff would rip or get torn apart while digging along sharp rocks - so why do they have wavecrest?
