After days and days, months and months, rain to shine, they waited. The shadows couldn't see their only heir to the throne wasting away in a plane where they saw a future for their child. They had to find someone... Something... Anything. Those rainy days turned to shine, but it seemed to be that leaves began to fall, and the tough months were ahead. Darkness befell their hearts, and they couldn't bear to loose the heir to elements. Desperately the wraiths grasped at any leaves they could cover their chrome king with to protect him from the elements. But, as winter loomed their hopes began to stiffen with the cold. While they were scrambling, storm seeker perched on a branch. The silver shone in the light, the smoke and wisps ceased for a moment, and the egg became the bird's goal. It snatched up the lightly colored egg right when the creatures weren't looking. And just as that happened, the bird felt a tug at it's tail feathers. Thus leaving behind some angry spirits, and a feather to tie in the pieces. Back at the homeland, a white dragon sat amidst a grove. But this grove was like nothing seen before. This grove was inside of a cave, driven by a miniature sun like substance floating in the corner. The dragon opened her eyes, and sighed in happiness. Familiars danced and played around her, as her Ruffled Glasswing struggled to keep the new batch of Toridaes in line. She got up to do her daily chores, of course the ones after a nice long nap, but noticed something off. One of her birds had something unusual. Something that didn't seem like it belonged in the nest? She investigated, only to find a bright silver egg in it's place as the curious bird flew away. "Oh my, oh no. This won't do. I can't have this youngling hatching here? It needs to be warmed first! Oh goodness me!" she exclaimed as her claw swooped the egg from the grassy nest it sat upon. She rushed out of the mouth of the cave and dove straight for the den of the nestmothers. A cold egg means a cold heart, and she knew this well. But she was too late. Mid-flight she felt a jitter and a shake as two purple clawed hands emerge from the side of the egg. She paused, setting down next to Colossal's nesting area. He was there at the time. "Hmm, I see you have quite a young specimen there." he padded toward the white distraught guardian, quizitively. "I don't mean to bother you my alaka'i, but I knew being born on solid ground and warm heat gives them good souls." "Superstition, makuahine. Just superstition. But please, let me see this new fellow. Our high alaka'i would love to see a new mage." he sat, inspecting the newly hatched Skydancer before him. The hatchling didn't cry, nor did it seem bothered by anything. It hatched, sat, and listened to every word Colossal then spoke. He knew, this one was had purpose. Years have passed, and Colossal is no longer around. Royal took his place as a council member and as a mystic. He now reads dragons' fortunes as they approach him, and can see futures beyond what is normally acceptable. His only stipulation to his readings, they must be at night. He can't function without the guidance of the stars, the night, and something else. He knew though, that something was always watching his every move. This became more prominent as the night goes on. With each night, he could almost hear the stars calling back to him, telling him to continue on, to find his purpose, to fulfill his destiny. Of course, the only destiny he can't find, is his own.
