Shimmer lives in a small den in a secluded area of the woods. She tends to isolate herself, far too caught up in making healing remedies and studying medicine to bother with talking to dragons. She always struggled with forming connections anyway, her solemn and blunt demeanor turning off other dragons.


One day, Shimmer was out gathering herbs when she caught a figure falling out of the sky. She rushed off to where they hit the ground and saw a harpy that looked badly injured. Shimmer hurried over to her and asked her if she was ok, but the harpy was barely conscious and mumbled intelligibly so she carried her to her den to tend to her wounds. When the harpy woke up, Shimmer told her what happened, and reassured her that even though her wing was broken, she will be fine and that shimmer can heal it. The harpy then introduced herself as Avaline, and told her the story of how she got here. Avaline was scouting ahead for her flock but lost sight of them and got separated.

Shimmer offered to take care of Avaline until she would be able to fly again and reunite with her flock, to which Avaline gratefully accepted. But over that time, the two grew fond of each other and formed romantic feelings. When she was fine to go, Avaline confessed her feelings to Shimmer and voiced her desire to stay with her. To her delight, Shimmer riceprocated, and the they happily lived together since.
