Biography

Nimue
Light Mage in Training
tumblr_inline_o23ji2QFSp1r3lvtf_500.png
"Everything I've done, all I've trained for, has been for a greater purpose."

When she was born, Nimue felt as though she was meant for more than just helping her mother with her shop. Nymphae would show her daughter the lay lines which directed magic around them and Nimue would play with them if only to enjoy the glowing light surrounding her as she did so, a feeling of warmth growing in her chest. Her older brother, Merlin, had left their den to train with Marigold and Nimue was often jealous of the ease with which he had done so, feeling trapped by her life.

Following the path laid out for her, Nimue had a few dalliances with Salamiel, the older dragon's dark and mysterious nature drawing her in. Their children grew up and once they no longer needed her she felt adrift, spending most of her days staring out over the ocean as she imagined great adventures and tales. One day, while talking with Merlin, she revealed her interest in learning more about magic and, to her surprise, he offered to teach her.

Nimue delighted in learning magic, soaking up the spells her older sibling taught her. She found that their shared interest gave them a lot in common, more than she'd felt with anyone before, save for maybe her mother. Not feeling ready to go on her own, she was content to remain Merlin's student even when she knew she could have branched off. It felt right to stay and train under her sibling. During her time as his student, she noticed that Merlin tended to only use part of his full magic. Curious, she asked him why only to receive a non-committal answer. Nimue grew to believe that she was given her talent to help her older sibling to realize his full potential.

Hobbies: Nimue believes strongly in fate and destiny, believing that each person has a path set out in front of them. Hers is to help her brother, Merlin, realize his. Blessed (or cursed) with a vivid imagination, she is sometimes easily distracted from her work by the pull of the magic in the air around her.

Name Origin: Named after Merlin's student from the King Arthur mythology.

Lair review by Tamabukku1000
Quote:
Hello there, dragon based off of the King Arthur mythology, fancy seeing you here! This is probably a rather unpopular opinion of mine, but I think seraph and circuit are a pretty great combo. I have more dragons with it in my lair than most people do, probably. With your Nimue, I really like the way the cobwebs look, they almost feel more like an accent instead of an apparel piece with how well they're blending in here. Lemon is a great color to begin with, an especially with the gradient that the circuit gives it, the brightshine accent really matches. Her look is simple, but effective, and sometimes that's all you really need. Purple and yellow is not a combo you see all too often, but you've pulled it off rather nicely.
