Sneferu

The Fallen Queen

Sneferu was a proud queen of dragons, who ruled over her subjects with a kind hand. She was the one that her subjects went to when they had problems, or even just needed a shoulder to cry on. However, one year their harvests were not as plentiful as usual--in fact, they would barely feed a half of the population, never mind the whole kingdom. Sneferu tried her best to ensure the food was stored properly for the hard times ahead, but she knew that difficult choices were on the horizon. Then, she heard of a magical artifact, which would ensure that --if planted with a seed-- it would grow enough to feed an entire kingdom--maybe even more! Sneferu immediately set out on a quest to find it, with her most trusted friend at her side. She soon came to realize that her friend was not as trustworthy as she once thought. Once they reached the cavern where the artifact was said to be, and after braving all of the winding tunnels of the cave, and after finding that artifact... Sneferu's "friend" knocked her on the head. She fainted from the blunt force, and her friend sealed her in the cave by causing a cave-in at the entrance. Sneferu was trapped in darkness. Cold. Alone. Starving. The many treasures in the cave did not help ease the gnawing in her belly, nor the ache in her heart, as she realized that her friend had betrayed her, to take the kingdom for herself. Sneferu's heartbreak eventually turned to anger, then wrath. She managed to escape the cave, but she was forever changed. She laid waste to the kingdom she once called her home, ending the reign of the traitor by destroying the kingdom she ruled. She never left that state of rage. She returned to the cave she'd once been trapped in, and she sealed herself inside. On some level, she did not want to hurt anyone any more. But the rest of herself constantly waited for someone else to take out her anger on...

But who could possibly be foolish enough to do that?
