Biography

The clan is familiar with the animated crystal dragons that fall from the night sky every four years, but today, something strange happened—streaking from the sky like shooting stars fell something new, much too early to be part of the quadrennial starfall event in winter. One after another, the flaming objects crashed into the river; a reconnaissance mission was hurriedly sent out to assess what had just entered their territory, and when they arrived at the scene, they were met with an unexpected sight: dragons that looked and felt and acted alive, five of them, struggling to stay afloat in the current.

The dragons—three adults and two eternally young—were pulled from the river and taken back to camp. Even their plunge into the river could not douse the scent of ozone and singed hair from their descent, and they clung tightly to Falgun’s back on the short journey home, too exhausted to move.

Nobody was quite sure what they were supposed to be. The crystal dragons, at least, look like dragons; these creatures appeared to be something… different.
