Matriarch (Voltaics)
The founder of the clan who wandered the wastes until she found the Artifact deep in the caves under the canyon, and the one who has brought us here for the Work. I have heard she was a bit more of a presence in the past; but now few see her - it is said she has tied herself to the Artifact now and is changed by it, and thus can no longer leave its proximity.
While she is the Matriarch, the clan is still governed by the fifteen Voltaic dragons who discuss and decide policy. I had read that she can override any given one of their votes, but I have never come across any records of her doing so. Curiously as well, while the Voltaics have a clearly-defined process for choosing new members (via lot every five years), there is no such process for choosing a new Matriarch. Such short-sightnedness is unlike the dragons here, so perhaps she really does intend to outlive any one of us.
