Biography
L A T R A S I L
Of course, there was also the crystal ball. It showed the past, present, and future, without relying on the Tidelord’s prophecies. Dragons would come to her with little problems, ones that were almost too insignificant to bother with, but they paid well for her insight on the outcome. She may have lofty ideas about magic and her skill with it, but she wasn’t too good for a stable paycheck.
Latrasil’s magic is her primary concern in life, as both her livelihood and her passion. Charging other dragons for her potions, spellcasting, and divination proves a profitable venture for a dragoness as skilled as she is in the arcane arts. She is a bit of a recluse, but that seems only to heighten her perception as a skillful witch. Having to travel away from any major settlement to visit her seems to have lent an additional air of authenticity to her magic. Of course, her results speak for themselves, but having the proper aesthetic certainly isn’t hurting her prospects.

Latrasil was hatched in the Starfall Isles, and always had a strong connection to the magic there. She made the decision to study it, figure out how to bend magical energy to her will in more and more refined ways. Her skill grew rapidly, and she began experimenting with more different materials as conduits, as opposed to just channeling the magic herself.
Certain crystals, she found, had an affinity for magic. She began to experiment with them specifically, testing magical capability. Grinding crystals into powder served as the base for potions, and also an ink that held spells much better than any other. She found that recording spells in her spellbooks with the crystal-based ink led to the magic being considerably more potent when used. These spells could also be used by others, if she wrote or inscribed them on other surfaces than her treasured books.
