The Ghost Leviathan. The second largest aggressive creature on the ocean planet 4546b. They will often come at you from complete darkness, screeching like, well a ghost. In game, a lot more is written about their life cycle than most of the creatures the player encounters.

They begin their life-cycles in the caves of the Lost River, where they consume creatures like River Prowlers and Ghost Rays. Once they start to get too large for the caves, they migrate out to biomes on the surface such as the Blood Kelp Zone or the Grand Reef before eventually migrating out to the crater edge. If the player crosses the boundary of the playable area, which is a two kilometer by two kilometer volcanic crater, they will get chased by three adult Ghost Leviathans until they return back to the playable area.

The Ghost Leviathan is bioluminescent, with a head like a hammerhead shark that has 12 bioluminescent eyes on the front the head. It glows blue on the inside, and its powerful, muscular body helps propel it through the water. It’s teeth are different from the Reaper’s, because they have much smaller teeth than the Reaper. The juveniles in the Lost River are sixty-five meters long, while the adults found elsewhere are 107 meters long. Since they spend their adult lives beyond the crater edge, it’s assumed that they eat micro-plankton found in the water, and that they attack out of being territorial, rather than hunting the player. Despite them being aggressive, they’re quite majestic, especially at night.
