Biography

gR8HYOW.gif

Gripping the strap to the satchel slung around her body, Camellia nervously let out a deep breath. Today was the day. She had spent the past two months having many conversations with her parents, Truesight and Jadewing, about leaving the clan. She wanted to go to a place where more than just mushrooms and ferns grew. She wanted to grow peonies and poppies, marigolds and snapdragons, succulents and sassafras and so, so much more. She could only do that in a place with proper access to sunlight and ample fresh water. A place like the Sunbeam Ruins. They hadn't approved at first, wary of sending their shadowborn daughter to the lands of the Lightweaver. What about the Viridian Labyrinth, which held more plants per square foot than there were dragons in a clan? Or the Windswept Plateau, where she could soar among rustling towers of bamboo that sang with the wind? She had so many places to choose from, why did she want to go there?

Camellia loved her parents and considered their concerns carefully. Still, even after mulling it over again time and time again on their insistence, Camellia knew she wanted to live in the Sunbeam Ruins. In the rainforests of the Viridian Labyrinth, her gardens would be lost amongst the splendor of the wildlife- if they survived under the dense canopy, that is. The Windswept Plateau, although a fine place, was much too far from the Tangled Woods. She wanted to be able to visit her family, after all! Every other flight had far too extreme of a climate for her to even consider them. Presenting her own rebuttals to her parents, Camellia patiently explained exactly why it had to be the Sunbeam Ruins. Finally, her persistence paid off and her parents relented. They had to acknowledge Camellia was her own dragon now, old enough to make her own decisions. If she ever ran into trouble, though, they would be waiting at home to help her.

Casting a last glance around the place she had once called hers, Camellia stepped outside to join her parents where they waited for her. Tearfully hugging her father, their antennae quivered in time in sympathetic pangs of sadness as they embraced. Her mother came up behind them and gathered them both up in her big, strong, gentle paws, soothing them with her calm and loving presence as they all hugged each other tight. Camellia stepped away as the hug ended, looking at her parents as they stood in front of what was no longer her home. With a final sad wave, she turned around and made her way towards the edge of the Tangled Woods, off to start a new life.

...

Camellia eventually found herself in a small clan outside the Hewn City called Shady Grove.

Gentle Camellia flutters around the twisted roots and tangled brambles that make up her birth clan's territory. She dreams of faraway lands where beautiful blooms don't have to fight to grow.

Hello! This is Camellia. Camellia is part of a great lineage with lots of members and lore, so they’d love to have some lore of their own!
To help you out with that, you will find some “lore tools” in the form of suggested traits, scries, family history etc. underneath. You may use these as you see fit. Maybe you’ll be inspired and come up with something. :)
You may of course choose to ignore any and all of these suggestions and do something completely different!
If you do write anything, feel free to tag @lounieticc, the person who hatched this dragon, and share it on the reunion thread. Me and the other members would love to read what you came up with.

notes on the parents:

father

Truesight

Born as a Multigaze, Truesight used to be a very skittish hatchling, as he was easily startled by sudden movements. He eventually learned that his many eyes allowed him to quite literally keep an eye on everyone and turned into a brave guardian and caretaker of hatchlings upon reaching adulthood. Thus, he has always been a very calming and encouraging presence to all his children.

Jadewing

Jadewing is a very calm and gentle mother. She carefully chooses her words when she reprimands her children and they are never absent of a message. That's not to say she coddles them though. She can be very assertive and her children tend to cherish peace and quiet as much as their mother as a result.
