Altair

Altair is a gentle soul from the land of shadow, and yearned for a brighter light in his life. He was wary of the land of light, as dragons from there can feel a bit overwhelming for an individual such as himself, and in his travels he stumbled upon a budding clan living at the foot of an active volcano. There were only three dragons in the clan at the time; Lance, his mate Amber, and their daughter Peril. The family welcomed Altair to their clan and assigned him to the role of ordering the hoard, a task he immediately adored. He loved assigning new alcoves in the cave walls to order hoard items, making pots and crates to store food, and most of all, he loved to weave baskets and tapestries. Over time, this grew into a love of knitting and crocheting, which was a little strange for a dragon living among a volcano. However, the rest of his clan loved his work, and often used his scarves and blankets to decorate their caves. And no dragon loved his work more than Peril, who became a close friend to him very fast, in spite of their different personalities. Altair would often make special scarves for Peril and would set aside her favorite food for her, and Peril would often bring him new materials for his projects and little animal friends. That was how he obtained Desperaux, his little Ember Mouse, and Flint, his pet chicken. Altair returned the favor one day when he bought Peril her pet Cockatiel from a wandering merchant. With such as clear bond between the two, it was natural for Peril's parents to pair the two as mates, and they soon had many children of their own. Although his new home was rather hot and he needed to be wary of the lava flowing through much of his new home, Altair had found the brightest light he had ever needed, Peril, and their new family.
