A number of years ago, Miriam found two hatchlings abandoned in a cardboard box. She took them home with her, naturally, and decided to raise them as her own. Although the two hatchlings were very different, growing up in the same nest strengthened their bond as found brothers. Their names were Edwyrd and Iris.

Edwyrd is a friendly and warmhearted dragon. Without Miriam's guardianship, she fears his trusting nature would have gotten the young dragon seriously hurt. Or worse.

He is a student on a scholarship at an arcane school. His favorite subject is, well... Everything. He can't help himself. Thankfully, he is very good at his studies and very helpful to his professors and other students. Younger dragons studying below him tend to get crushes on him, but he's too oblivious to even acknowledge it. Miriam believes this is less from his appearance and more from his kind hearted nature. The hatchlings say it's both. Iris is pretty sure that if a dragon ever admitted feelings for him that Edwyrd would have a heart attack.
