Biography
The day Maz's egg had been laid, Helena and Morri could not save it from the clutches of it's grandfather. He had seen it after laying, and no dead eggs matched the patterns screen across it's icy surface. So, Konongur had taken it, much like how he had kept it's mother's egg in his own chambers.
The day of hatching, Konongur had to shield his eyes to keep his aight. The runes on the newborn shone so brightly, even the stars would envy his prideful birth. It took Konongur almost an hour to calm the hatchlings light, muffling it in a thick fur blanket. To Konongur's soon shock, this was not all the hatchling had in store.
Upon eating it's shell the hatchling took more than 3 hours to scarf it back up. When it was finally released, the pearl was huge, and almost choked the hatchling who spawned it. Memories were already sewn into the very being of the pearl, memories much farther than the Pearlcatchers newfound life.
Konongur grabbed the pearl, going into a shaking fit upon doing so. The hatchling, soon to be named Maz, had no idea what the Imperial saw. He didn't even know what he himself saw... It was all blurry. Flashes of light, colors, sounds and smells. Paragraphs upon paragraphs filled his head, flooding from the pearl he now repossessed. Memories not his, stories he'd never been told, all bombarded him. The hatchling fell unconscious...
He slept for 10 days, and 10 nights. Helena swaddles him, sung to him, and spoke to him in hushed tones the entire ordeal. He would murmur back in the coma-like-state, as though he already knew it all by heart, and wanted to murmur along.
Konongur overlooked his medical care, no doctor nurse or other knowing the cause of the heavy sleep. It was an anomaly, an utterly unexplainable phenomenon which no field of medical science could comprehend.
Only when the hatchling woke did the family ease. He was thin, malnourished from the rejection his body gave to sustinance. He ate for almost an hour when food was brought in, and even ate more later.
He told no one what he saw, or what had happened. But he did give his grandfather a long, hard stare. A stare that bore through the imperial, making him leave not long after. The hatchling had seen the stories of the world, and the story of his lineage. His grandfather had a fate worse than death on his platter, and no one in the family would cut it short...

Generation 2
I am a Trapped Pearl! These dragons are secret royalty-- desendants of the petty tyrant Konungur and his queen-consort Holden. Their paths are ever at odds; Konungur seeks to have Pearlcatcher children to steal their pearls. He does this so that he can use them as pawns to expand his empire while retaining complete control. Holden, on the other hand, has every nest smuggled from the castle and replaced with dead eggs, buying their freedom at the cost of her own happiness.
