Caias

Caias is a treat to be around. She is an intensely smart Mantle who has researched the stars themselves. Coming from a simple home within the Light flight, Caias viciously consumed any new information she could. By the time she was no longer a hatchling, Caias had read the entire Light Library. She decided instead of going immediately to the Observatory to continue learning, Caias moved through each sect, reading and learning as much as she could from each city. Upon reaching the Shadow sect, Caias met Laven who spoke to her as the Shadowbinder Himself. This encounter shook her to her core and she fled from him. During her attempt to leave, Caias stopped herself and turned to face Him. With her bravery in the face of divinity, the Shadowbinder granted Caias the knowledge of the Shadow flight.
This kiss of Shadow corrupted Caias' wings, but not her brain.
She read the rest of the Lair's history and finally entered the Observatory. Immediately, the acolytes of the Arcanist ascended upon her and crowned her Mantle. The Arcanist Himself appeared and congratulated Caias. She has since been in a half awoken state, her brain usually occupied with Gaining New Knowledge. That is, of course, the Arcane flight's only core value. When she isn't in a state of Seeing, Caias secretly works with the Mantles to finish the division of classes.
