Canzoni and her adoring mate Volkslied were independent, travelling minstrels when escalating violence between dragonkind and Beastclan began to make the roads unsafe even for an (admittedly undersized) Imperial like Canzoni. They planned to stay at the Reach only until the immediate heat blew over, and ended up loving it enough to make their place permanent. While they still travel and perform, the Reach is now their home base and they spend more time here than away.

Canzoni's specialty lies in lyrics and composition. She's more of a lady than her mate; where Volkslied prefers faster-paced folk music and simple melodies that are easier to dance to, she is at her best with slower ballads that let her showcase her rich, sweet voice. Both of them adapt easily to show off one another's greatest talents. She genuinely enjoys offering Volkslied backup, harmony, or the second half of a call-and-response; he, in return, takes quiet joy in sitting nearby and plucking out a soft accompaniment to her melodies. They complement one another, and their mutual adoration is palpable whenever they're near each other--which is often, as they tend to be nigh inseparable.
