Sirras

Arcane Advocate and Teacher

You Walk Up To This Dragon
A dark blue and blush well-kept tundra with crystals woven into her fur and an aura of constant magic that seems to make her fur and silks flow slightly in an invisible breeze. She is constantly surrounded by books that flutter around her with the sound of dry paper. She beckons one close with a talon, then notices you. She sniffs at you suspiciously, then gives you a stare that is unusually intense for an herbivorous dragon and regards you with an air of irritation. Are you an annoyance, threat, or student?

Bio
Sirras has been a part of the Mystborne Conclave for a long time, since it was an Arcane clan, and is the very granddaughter of the progenitors. She hasn't let her auspicious pink coloring get to her head, especially as it's now more common to express genes so vividly. Her skill with magic, though, none - and especially not her - has ever doubted. Though she has to work against the tundra memory issues, and manage mana in a land not suffused with her native energies, she still has taken up the role of teacher, protector, and advocate for magic itself among the conclave.

She's never liked the move to the Tidelord's Realm and yearns for the Starfall Isles - but here she has remained, her loyalty to her clan far greater than her loyalty to her element.

Recently, this was tested as her very grandparents tried to shift the nature of magic itself in the clan with grand arguments and bizzarre experiments. She stopped them... for now... and is exasperated at the extra work her progenitors give her with their frustrating stubbornness.

Sirras lives alone in her lavish, scroll- and crystal-covered quarters that are suffused with magic. Occasionally, she can be found in Rebek's lair, which she refuses to speak about. She treats everyone with equal arrogance and exasperation, though Aethers try her patience more than others.

Personality
Sirras is an unpleasant tundra, irritable and socially inept. Or, more accurately, Sirras refuses to take anyone's nonsense. She's snappy, sassy, and sharp as a scalpel. If you've interrupted her reading, you'd better have a good reason. She can handle social situations well, even decieve, when she wants to. She just usually doesn't want to - leave her alone, and leave her to her magic.

Sirras loves magic. Like many arcane dragons, she's inquisitive and has an innate talent for magic. She is driven to learn more magic, and because of that, is one of the main mages in the Mystborne Conclave. As the granddaughter of the progenitors of the Mystborne Conclave, she takes this role seriously.

Despite being grumpy and sassy, Sirras does what she needs to do - even without complaint - when it really counts. She's the Conclave's main magic teacher for a reason, and is surprisingly generous with her time... which, she would retort, just means that you should appreciate what she's doing even more, since it's valuable.

Still, she's giving it to others freely, so despite the spiky (fluffy) exterior is a gentle heart that yearns for harmony - not conflict.

Fun Facts
  • Sirras has extremely potent magic, as she is born from two lines of high magical potency in Shadow and Arcane. If she figures out how to explore her true magical potential, with diligence and practice, the mortalborn tundra could rival the demigods. She would have to master Shadow and Arcane magic, however - for now impossible (even if the experiments deep in the hidden depths of the Conclave might imply otherwise...)
  • Sirras loves candied flowers. It's such a tundra thing to do, and Sirras has some shame about being one of the notoriously mild-mannered and 'mild-witted' species, so she hides it. She's comfortable enough with Rebek, however, that when he gives her candided flowers as a sweet little gift, she will eat them in front of him...
  • Debates help Sirras sleep - sometimes, she lurks around the debates of the Conclave, just to lull herself into deep rest. She'll say its because it's boring - but it is actually reassuring to her, and she feels like she remembers her day better when she listens.

    Relationships

    Maoru| Grandfather, Progenitor

Maoru is Sirras' grandfather and one of the founders of the clan. Despite recent events, she still feels close to him, and like he understands her more even than her mate. Being estranged from him after he participated in a grand scheme by his mate, Eraa, has been difficult - she misses him dearly, though she wouldn't admit it...

    Rebek| Student, Mate

A free spirit and an annoyance, Sirras reluctantly appreciates one of her worst students for his positive attitude and kind heart. She would never admit, even to him, that she loves him dearly, but she will grudgingly show him affection in the form of irritated gentle headbutts and grumbly snuggles. From the outside, it doesn't look like a healthy relationship, but for them, even those small gestures mean the world...
    127097.png

    Eraa| Grandmother, Progenitor

Sirras' relationship with her grandmother, Eraa, is very strained. As the progenitor of the clan, Eraa deserves respect, she's the reason that Sirras' mother is hibernating comfortably, and her curiosity about the elements is something Sirras shares... Yet her willingness to go too far and break a few bones and wills in the process is frightening to her. Her scent is heavily nostalgic to Sirras and she does miss her and her insight, but if she tries anything again, Sirras will be the first to stand in her way...

OLD: Sirras is one of the few members of the Mystborne Conclave who was born in the clan when it was a part of the Arcane Flight and has taken on the role of Arcane Advocate to return to the Starfall Isles. She is arrogant and is jealous of her powerful and scarred sister, Kavesh, and sees this as her way to beat her out. She is close to her grandfather, Maoru and feels that she understands the true nature of the Conclave best as a result.

Gen 3: Maoru + Eraa -> Misal -> Sirras (Arcane)
Gen 2: Misal + Tiana -> Sirras (Shadow)
