Biography
Birthed in the shadow of a mangrove swamp, Aquarius was found by Melete and Aquilo while hunting. They immediately thought of their mother’s quest for a mate, and kept him hidden from her until he was fully grown. Nearly the whole clan knew and managed to keep it secret. When they were finally introduced for the first time, Aoide was intrigued, but Aquarius was enraptured. It did not take long before they became mates. Boreas was pleased, but wonders if the Mirror has enough personality to keep Aoide interested.
Story: Fleeing the Past
He was birthed on the border of Water and Shadow territory, as the deep shadow of the mangroves on the edge of the Tangled Wood fell upon the lapping waters of the shore of the Sea of the Thousand Currents. His first sight was the sun setting in the west over the sea, and he saw the play of the light on the water and was glad. Yet the Shadowbinder claimed him for her own, and as the last vestiges of his egg fell away and the magic attending his birth coalesced, she entered into his heart and turned it to the shadows. Reluctantly he turned away from the shore and journeyed far into the wood.
What adventures he had in the darkness he kept deep within himself, but he never forgot the sight of the sea, and perhaps it entered into his heart a little too, for his eyes were unusually light for a creature of darkness. For sure he found little of beauty for him there in the shadows, where the light never reached and the water was as black as the darkness that dripped from the Shadowbinder's hide.
At last he decided to shake off the chains of his parent and return to the sea. His Second appeared as he arrived on the shore, as though the Tidelord blessed him, shimmering out like the colorful fish of the reef. His First he received from a clan's alchemist, and he rejoiced in the play of light and shadow on his scales. His Third he received from an enchanted scroll, selected for him by the clan leader herself, the clan leader who had stricken him with her beauty and tied his tongue so he could hardly speak. As they lay beside their first nest, and he gazed upon the eggs and the reflection of the setting sun on their pool, he was content.
But a small voice inside him insisted, you can never truly leave...
