Arwen Isenwode - Purveyor of Fashion, Avoider of Certain Financial Responsibilities


‘What do you mean, ‘declaring income’? I declared it. I declared it was mine.’

Arwen runs Isenwode Fine Haberdashery & Dressmaking Emporium, a name that suggests a grandeur not usually associated with a shop that also sells second-hand hats and 'slightly distressed' trousers. A shimmering Coatl, Arwen is technically a Water dragon, though no one has ever actually seen them enter the sea, and there is speculation that they may be on the run from a previous, colder life.

They are the go-to tailor for Dregsby’s oddly-shaped, poorly-dressed, and tragically fashion-starved population. Their shop smells faintly of lavender, fabric glue, and secrecy. They have an impeccable eye for colour and a truly remarkable ability to forget that money is a thing They are legally required to declare.

They operate on a strict cash-only policy, and whilst some whisper that this is due to their subtly evading taxes, Arwen prefers to describe it as a ‘commitment to traditional economic values’. The local council once attempted to conduct an audit of theur accounts. The next day, the entire office mysteriously received new, exquisitely tailored suits and promptly forgot the whole affair.

Arwen is married to Glacier, a dragon who very much believes in paying taxes. This is a source of some tension.

Tourist Tip: Need an outfit for a special occasion? Arwen will make you something exquisite. Need a receipt? You absolutely will not be getting one.
