B I O G R A P H Y
From what little anyone has managed to decipher from Martyr's long, rambling, and incredibly fast-paced stories, he originates from a strange little hovel dug into a cliff, right on the border between the Tangled Wood and the Sunbeam Ruins. It was here that he gathered up magical trinkets from all over Sornieth and conducted research on their properties, alongside his other pastimes, like watching the stars and writing down his observations about the universe and how it all worked. He was quite Arcane in nature for a Shadow dragon, back then. What nobody around knew (mostly because they never interacted much with the weird little hermit) was that Martyr had a plan. From the magical trinkets and electric plates he'd been collecting over all those years, he'd been building something special, something that would take him beyond anything that the dragons of Sornieth had ever accomplished. He wished to see the stars up-close, and anything else that the great canvas of space might hold. When the thrusters of his greatest creation lit and he piloted his makeshift rocket into the sky, nobody quite knew what to think. All they saw was a streak of colors and a pillar of smoke, shooting into the great beyond. |
Martyr was gone for quite some time. Days turned to weeks, then months, even years. It was a mystery to everyone where he'd gone, and the few friends he had worried for him, then presumed him dead...then, eventually, expunged the memory of him from their minds. By the time he finally returned from the wild, nebulous yonder, nobody could recognize him anymore. But perhaps that wasn't just due to how long he'd been gone- Martyr came back very different. His dark scales now glimmered with a dark maroon internal nebula, his eyes swirled like a spiral galaxy, and from seemingly nothing, he could conjure strange vortexes, brightly glowing yet abyssally dark at the same time, that pulled anything that got near into their center, never to be seen again. Nowadays, Martyr has settled in with the Amitola clan, who find themselves fascinated with his strange quirks and destructive, yet beautiful abilities. Both an amusing, friendly playmate with a quick wit and hyperactive nature, and a fascinating glimpse into what may lay beyond Sornieth's sky, he's made quite a few friends among the Amitolans...even if he may be responsible for personal belongings and bits of the walls going missing from time to time. |
