Sometimes the greatest defiance is in extending your hand in friendship, rather than raising it in anger.
The Wild-Natured Healer

Monkshood was the first outsider to join the clan. He was found abandoned on the edge of the spruce forest, his runes nearly obscured by caked-on mud. Both of his wings were broken, and although the bones healed, the muscles never did, and he's forever ground-bound. He wears the metal wing braces to help him move his wings, although they don't aid him in flight.

Once the mud was cleaned from his scales, exposing his Light flight runes, Gwyndor wanted to drop him back at the river. He would have done it if Monkshood and Gwendolyn hadn't immediately become inseparable, and if Raspberry hadn't threatened to leave if he turned away the baby.

Monkshood has a strong disregard for any and all of Gwyndor's rules. He's the first to look Gwyndor in the eye, snort, and tell him whatever new rule he came up with is a load of dung. It will often end with Gwyndor snarling challenges at him, which Monkshood refuses to rise to. He won't go out of his way to break the rules, but if something comes up which presents him with the opportunity to - well, who is he to say no?

He specializes in plants and brews that heal instead of hurt. He often is able to convince Gigala to grow herbs in her garden, but is always on the hunt for new plants to help him in his brewing. His Familiar helps him find plants from the air. When something arises that Monkshood doesn't know how to treat, he scours books in the clan's various collections to find pictures and uses for plants. From there, he and his Familiar will go on a trip to find the plants, some lasting longer than several days. Once the plants are found, they will be carefully uprooted and tenderly carried back to the camp to be placed in the garden.

He and Goshawk are best friends, and completely inseparable. When Goshawk joined, not long after Monkshood was found, the two younglings were put together to play and wear each other out. Growing up together made them inseparable, and they've remained that way throughout their whole lives. They often go on trips together, and Monkshood is the first (second to Prominence) to greet Goshawk upon his return.

Monkshood loves daydreaming, and dislikes strong-willed dragons, although he admires them.
