JOHANNA the persistent usurper |

From the moment she first tumbled out of her eggshell, Johanna has been using her sly nature and wit to get what she wanted in life. She has a keen eye for the emotions of others and is cunning enough to manipulate them to grant herself everything from extra time away from classes to a piece of hard-to-find armor, something that she convinced an elderly, forgetful Tundra to give her. She soon sailed through the ranks of her clan, even though it was a Lightning clan that favored truth and justice before anything else. Johanna had them all wrapped around her paws as she spewed lies about spreading the glory of the Stormcatcher throughout the world; as she did this, she reaped the benefits and offerings given to her by loyal clan members. However, when the promised light and glory did not come, dragons of her clan grew suspicious and eventually drove her out. She soon found a solution - after a scatterscroll, a new look, and a new clan, Johanna was back in the clan-ruling, treasure-making business. This cycle continued for many centuries until higher authorities became very suspicious of clans driving out a female, speckled Coatl leader over and over again. Johanna was forced to flee, arriving at Tycho's Peak in the same fashion she had her entire life - shrouded in lies. She was being pursued, she said, by justice-hungry Light dragons for a crime she did not commit. Compassionate Beo granted her shelter, and here she stays until all of the commotion dies down in the Shifting Expanse. Most dragons value truth above all. Johanna values the truth only when treasure, fame or power are given to her in exchange for it. She has a silver tongue and quick wit, naturally shifting to lies and deceit whenever she feels uncomfortable or threatened. And she's not afraid of taking control; leading so many clans has given her the ability to wield her power and command others as well as manipulate them. When that doesn't work, or when dragons snicker at such a large personality on such a small dragon, her Sunset Lasher, Vanna, never fails to convince them to change their minds. Johanna is quite spoiled as well, because of living a life where she nearly always got what she wanted. With all of her secret stashes of treasure and gems, Johanna would never turn down a nice (or expensive) piece of apparel. Beo was fond of Johanna right from the start (much to Valencia's disgust), and soon after she arrived she was granted a position of power. Now she has taken on Vesuvius' role as deputy; she organizes the clan's daily activities, keeps track of the food stores or enemy counts in the area, and organizes her clanmates accordingly. This has angered some of the older Clan members who share similar positions, as the young Coatl is a newer member who was suddenly granted a prominent Clan role. Some are even suspicious of her origins, and Johanna is aware of who has been keeping a close eye on her. She's been extra cautious about keeping her past hidden so that she can return to her Flight and continue her thievery one day. |
