Richard is the clan's protector, always ready to fight off unwelcome intruders and defend his family. When he isn't busy scaring off lost dragons and beasts, he likes to spend his time training the youngsters in self-defence and all sorts of acrobatics.

His favourite passtime is listening to his mate, Babs, when she is teaching the hatchlings about fate, destiny and the importance of being earnest.

Richard also has a weakness for sweets and everything blue. Blueberries in particular, because they're both blue and sweet.
