Murlaugh is a sorcerer born in a lightning clan to an unknown family. His eyes are his most striking feature; they spark constantly but harmlessly, and can now harness the ability to vary sparking from gentle buzzing to sporadic sparking, as well as brightness. Because of this gift, he can also see in the dark , which is good when he wants some wine in the night.
He didn't always know how to control it though, his magic mentor taught him how to use his gift by "concentrating really hard on it". Of course, the creative teenager knew exactly what that meant, but tried a little too hard, shocking his mentor by accident. They both laughed it off of course, and his mentor was fine.

His mentor, whose real name is only known by Murlaugh, was found this year, dead in Murlaugh's arms. Murlaugh was hysterically crying and rocking him, screaming something similar to "I'M SORRY PAPA, I'M SORRY SO SORRY PLEASE COME BACK"
His mentor was like a father to him, he had no one else to take care of him, so his mentor, going by the name of Professor Psye, took him in and raised him on his own.
After his death, Murlaugh asked that he be cremated. Psye's ashes now sit in a Windsinger Painted Vase in a glass box atop a shrine, built by him to commemorate his loving father. Murlaugh wears Psye's Teardrop Ruby Earrings, to remember and honour him by:
His favourite hobby is collecting Stormcatcher Scrap Metal Welding's and cleaning them up to a glorious shine using metalworking tools and polishing substances.
He's interested in metallurgy now, and is being taught by Nerroth of CometAura's flight
