Voodoo pressed his hands into the bowl, the mixture of sludge and other goos and oozes being prepared to spend time in the brew. He looked over at the whimpering hatchling, sighing at this problem that had taken up so much time recently. The Serthis had been acting up more so lately, as much as to come close to camp, attacking children and those too slow to get away. They'd almost lost a warrior just the other day. The warrior was poisoned by a spellcaster in battle and had to be rushed back to camp -- back to his able clutches and his hand-made-from-scratch antidote. The hatchling he was currently treating was fourth one this moon to have been actually injured. This one was lucky to be so close to his den and lab when it happened. “Keep the bandage on young one, don't chew or claw at it either,” At first he snapped, until seeing the dragonling’s small small head lowered, ashamed at being weak. “Just... Be careful, and let it heal.” He finished, looking up at the hopeful mother with a nod. “He's free to go. Keep him out of the bushes for a while.” With a large smile and a few bounds, she carried her son back to the nest, looming over him now anxiously. The Coatl male shook his head. He hadn't the time for such nonsense. He needed to be ready for the sick season, or for when another coliseum runner was brought unannounced with another injury for him to deal with. Looking toward the horizon, he watched the sun start to dip below their side of Sorneith once more. “Welcome another night.” “You'd be more useful out there with them.” Alchemist noted, casually strolling into his workshop. The golden female often led the warriors in the clan. “Go. Out with the runners. We can't afford to lose anyone, especially to the likes of the Mire.” She stepped around him, looking at all the viles on the wall of his den. “Why don't you just try? Head out there with with the rest of the team tomorrow. I think you'll be surprised at how much less bored you become. I'll stay here and help out with the younglings if anything goes wrong here.” With a chuckle and a shake, the golden Skydancer hopped off into the night, leaving the Coatl male behind to think for himself. Alchemist returned the next morning, one of her most capable warriors trailing behind her, the pale sunlight reflecting off her golden scales and filling the den with fantastic dots of light. “Are you boys excited to get out there today?” “Elated.” came the reply. |
I'm not the one who's so far away
When I feel the snake bite enter my veins.
Never did I wanna be here again,
And I don't remember why I came.
