Main Theme: Darkness Keeps Chasing Me - Grace Vanderwaal

______ Her first sensation was of darkness. Then her eyes adjusted, and she could faintly detect the outlines of feathered wings, surrounding herself. Her wings, she realized. All she needed to do was leave the darkness. The outside called her, but she resisted. She sensed only danger there. Nevertheless, she flung her feathered wings wide, rays of darkness beaming out, screaming her lust for battle to the horrified dragons before her.

One day, in the middle of a storm, a wounded dragon flew all the way to AspyreClan, with an urgent message. It was never delivered. She noticed a gathering of dragons, outside a grand-looking cave. She figured the clan leader could be found there. There was such a commotion that she wove through the crowd, unnoticed, seeking the dragon at the center of attention. When she saw, she reeled in shock. Before her stood a massive Imperial, so dark he seemed to suck the light out of the air, his splinters of icy scales twinkling darkly, flanked by another Imperial, this one gold. Her gaze and the dark Imperial's met, and she felt her soul sinking into darkness as dark as his scales. Before that day, she had been known as Ava of the Clan of Motherly Protection. After then, Ava ceased to exist, and Vengeance ruled.

No dragon knows why Ava suddenly underwent this transformation. However, common tribe belief says that when Erebus and Ava's eyes met, a bit of the Shade inside of Erebus latched onto her. She sprouted raven wings, and shadowy darkness discolored her scales and purged her memories. It also granted her with almost godly power. The power of death.

Sometimes she still feels Ava pulling at her, but she ignores it. She finds no comfort in the thought of leaving her current existence. She is, however, comfortable with who and what she is: an aberration.

Now, Vengeance spends her time either communicating with her mentor, Erebus, or alone, wandering the boundaries of the Wyrmwound at night. When she is called to battle, she strikes down foes with predatory grace. Every dragon in the tribe is fearful of her, except Erebus. He gave her armor that he imbued with the power of the Shade -- and she wears it all the time, letting speak for her: I am shadow. I am a monster. I am a killer. You are right to be afraid of the dark.
