Home. Cairn never bothered learning the meaning of home, having wandered alone around the Scarred Wasteland since he was too young to properly remember. He spent his earliest days learning how to fight, how to survive, and how to find and hold the most advantageous territory at any given time. He never bothered with playing, hoarding, or other small norms for younger dragons.

As he grew up, he became gradually more efficient. He survived. He witnessed all sorts of dangers. Sickness. Famine. Drought. War. Through it all, he fought to gain the best situation when necessary, watching the fall of those who could not survive.

Adulthood came. Cairn had outlasted most of whom he'd known in his earliest years. He refused to permanently settle in any one area, but generally stayed near one area that had proved useful to him on multiple occasions. However, he was still completely alone.. That would not be the case for much longer.

He soon noticed a few dragons that had been staying in the same general region as him. At first, he intended to drive them away from his resources. His plans quickly changed upon meeting them, ultimately agreeing to form a group. After all, maybe it would be better to not do everything himself, with less pressure and some he could rely on.

Time passed, and as Cairn got comfortable having others around, more dragons began to tag along. He remained a stubborn wandering fighter, but he had a pack. He had the start of a clan to fight and travel with him. Through a span of years, the clan continued to grow.

Eventually, the clan was too large to efficiently move as large a distance as it used to. Though Cairn and his clan continued to move, the clan as a whole began to gravitate around a certain area. That village became a sort of home base, a central point for the clan as they further developed. Through it all, Cairn oversaw everything, above all making sure no enemy could encroach on their portion of the Scarred Wasteland. Anything that attempted was fated to meet a brutal end from his claws. The strongest survived for a reason.
