Kayn tries to be happy about his life. It is rare that a prophet is born, and rarer that they aren’t immediately kidnapped by a powerful clan. He may have to bare the scars of his gift, but at least he retains his humanity. Unlike his brother, Atrion, and mother, Kayn wants to use his powers to help others. It is unfortunate, then, that all they seem to do is hurt him further.

Kayn, the son of woe - he who inherited the future sight of his mother but beholdens it differently than prophecies, for Kayn sees the strings of fate, he sees their knots and where the threads fray - where they will snap and when, Kayn knows the end of each creature he meets and it is a heavy burden to bear.

Scars litter Kayn's form, a number almost as comparable to the number of dragons who sought him for his gift - and then in their anger at what end was foretold, lashed out and laid such marks upon him, but Kayn bears his burdens with quiet grace and sorrow in his countenance - for as much as he chooses to run from the world and hide away, they still come to him for their answers and Kayn receives yet more scars in turn,

but nothing stops what fate preordained.
