ABOUT.
The sand ebbs and flows around her feet in eddies, little ripples and waves that fan out as she trudges through and past, onto solid ground; a nod, a few coins exchanged, words whispered from mouth to ear. A dagger into the back of a man who deserves it. Freedom given, chains pulled from the wall. A smallest, softest smile. She doesn't stay. She never does. Loneliness eats at her bones in the night, but that is more than a worthy price for her calling. She picks up trinkets as she goes, intervening when there is a cause that takes her fancy. Otherwise it is just her and the road, the never ending road.

It's one thing to search for meaning and enlightenment, and entirely another to be trust into it. Cartias wanders. This is what she does. Born with wanderlust like no other, she had to be sought after, called back by her father when she wandered too far from the safety of the Cathedral, and she'd only sneak out again once he was busy. Was it her charge, they wondered. What called to her, out there in the day and in the night? Meaning, she said when she was older, sparring with her sister; wisdom, she said when she was older, practising spells with her brother. The truth is that she's not sure, only that she has the compulsion to search and travel. It consumes her from inside out, and she smiles at it, teeth bared. She will find it, whatever it is- she will find it.
