Her Charge was formerly the motel that she had taken care of. And it still is.

Tourmaline and Dioptase were the founders of the old Dragon Motel that used to be a small attraction on the Zephyr Steppes. Everything ran smoothly, and the two began taking in dragons of all shapes and sizes and backgrounds to care for as if they were their own children. But one day, out of grief and anger, their daughter Chrysoberyl revolted against the two, moving the Clan to the Reedcleft Ascent and securing both of their places in prison. Tourmaline is much higher-security than Dioptase her mate, who is still allowed to fight under the conditions that it is under supervision of one of Chrysoberyl's councilmembers. As Tourmaline waits for a solution, Dioptase works against the times to get them and all of the other prisoners into freedom...

Though she is wrapped with the bonds given to prisoners of the Clan of Chrysoberyl, she knows that she will be free someday to run her hotel again, just like the good old days. Fiercely protective of all she holds dear, especially her mate and children.
