Kargonty grew up in a very magical household. Both his mother and father were talented elemental adepts and teachers at his old clan's school. Kargonty was also set up to be a very powerful Lightning mage until his accident. He was late for his first class of the new semester in secondary school and flew a little too close to the lightning rods hurrying to get to the school before he was any later. Everything went tense, and white heat seared through him. Kargonty barely remembers hitting the ground, but there was no way he could forget what happened afterward.

'Waking up' in a hospital bed to frantic whispers and hushed sobs was not the most fun thing Kargonty had done in his few years of life at that point. His hands instinctively went to his head as he felt his eyes open, and he realized he couldn't see anything. He felt bandages over his face, so he assumed that was why everything was black. After assuring his mom he felt fine except for a mild case of static shock and a headache, he rested in the hospital for about a week before the bandages were taken off and he could finally see again.

As Kargonty's eyes healed under the wrapings, everything started turning from pitch black to blinding white. It was so bright it hurt, and he thought he might go blind. How ironic that thought was. The day Kargonty got his bandages off, he was looking forward to seeing his parents and friends again and to see how messed-up his face was. He had overheard the doctors talking about how bad the scarring would be while he was supposed to be sleeping. As soon as the doctor told him he could open his eyes, Kargonty opened them and started crying once he realized what had happened. He was indeed blind, cursed to 'see' white for the rest of his life. It was so bright it was painful at times, but Kargonty was physically incapable of seeing anything else.

After finding a way to deal with his blindness, Kargonty went back to school and finished what lessons he could- most of it required sight and he got shocked too many times to count, but that didn't stop him. Kargonty was focused on seeing his lessons through, blind or not.

Being told by his friends and parents that his eyes had now started glowing after his accident, Kargonty began employing the use of blindfolds and hoods to keep from shedding the light from his eyes into anyone else's, and to help cover the jagged scar from being struck by the lightning that caused his blindness. What difference would it make anyhow?

After finally graduating from school, Kargonty wanted to get away from electricity. He had spent his whole life around it and was getting tired of hearing the noises of the thing that had disabled him. He moved across the continent to the Ice domain and found a lair to call home and a place to employ his studies of various magic.

Kargonty is completely blind but says that instead of everything being black, everything is stark white. His eyes glow for some still unknown reason, and a jagged lightning bolt-shaped scar cuts across his face from where he was struck. Despite his accident being years ago at this point, he still finds any other means of travel more appealing than flying and prefers to walk to wherever he needs to be.
