Biography
I am Tabitha. I am brave. I am strong. But most importantly, I am happy.
I was born into a small clan. It was a strong clan, with strong dragons - yet we didn't have enough treasure to make a living. One day, our clan leader decided one dragon would have to go in order to sustain the clan. She was fair and kind - yet she had to make the decisions that would effect the clan in a positive way. It's harder to do than you think.
So, my small voice peeping out against the loudness, I said quietly, "I will go." The dragons were all talking over me. Nobody heard. So I raised my head high in the air and shouted "I WILL GO!" Silence fell over the clan. Everyone's head turned to me. This was the little Tabitha, the quiet one, the baby Fae: she would never voluntarily leave the clan, right? Wrong!
I needed to stand up for myself sometime in my life. Why not now? My mother and father ran to me. "No!" They called. "My only daughter must not leave us!" My mother, Chromie cried. My Imperial father, Valeria, looked at his feet. "If this is what you wish, Tabitha, than you may go." Tigress, the brave leader of our clan, also a fae, called. I dipped my head and than nodded it.
I was escorted away from my family and brought to another small clan. There were strange noises and spicy smells. Heads turned as I was brought in. A kind looking Tundra gave my a sympathetic look, while a shimmering gold, blue, and white patched Coatl glanced at me and then turned away, her face unfathomable. A bright cyan Bogsneak came up to me with a polite smile. "Welcome to The Darkest Shadow." She said. "Are you my new leader?" I squeaked quietly. I felt like I was whispering. The Bogsneak turned to watch the hustle and bustle of the clan, and than flicked her head once more to me. "No honey." She replied. Then she shook herself and added on, more authoritivly. "My name is Mayan." I was confused. Who was the leader of this strange new clan? I was too timid to ask though. The dragons escorting me greedily snatched the treasure Mayan offered them, and then flew off without saying goodbye.
Dragons I did not know brought me food to eat and brought me to a soft moss bed where I could sleep. They told me to rest and that I would start training tomorrow. "What training?" I asked. They did not reply. I was all alone in my bed. There was no mother coming to kiss me good night. No father to sing me a sleepy sing. Suddenly the food in front of me no longer seemed appetizing.
I began to cry quietly, and than louder. My sobs echoed through the cave. I shed tears until I was sitting in a small puddle of salty water. I cried for my clan, for my family, for the life I had left behind.
A half an hour later, the Coatl came in. She wore a surprised expression on her face. And then her gaze softened. Quietly, she asked me "Are you crying because you miss your family?" I nodded miserably. The Coatl said nothing for a long time, and then she began her story.
"When I was young - mind you, a very long time ago, I too missed my parents. I was an auction dragon, being sold from one clan to the next. My parents were ripped from me, just like yours. I never saw them again. But I still kept living life as it should be lived. The deities have a plan for us all. You must move on from your separation. This is a new place, a new life, it should be exciting for you!" The Coatl paused, and than said quietly, "I hope that helps."
I still take into account that valuable life lesson today. And I think we all should. If there is loss you must move on. You must believe in your heart that your paths will cross again.
