What is my true self?
Vulpes

Originally a young fox cursed with an inverse-coloured coat, Vulpes traveled the lands under the Lightweaver's control in search of a way to cure her seemingly strange condition. Her parents had long abandoned the vulpine creature due to her unnatural colours, leaving the kit to fend for herself. As Vulpes journeyed in the Sunbeam Ruins, her glistening white coat was watched over by the rays of the Sun, catching the attention of the Lightweaver herself.

The Lightweaver noticed that what was once supposedly Vulpes' soul had turned a black that rivalled the skies of midnight, a result of purity becoming engulfed in desperation and loneliness. To protect the fox from further harming herself, the Lightweaver cast a point of Light so pure, it appeared to bend even the gravity around it.

Directing the Light towards Vulpes, the darkness from the now startled fox diffused from her soul into the pure ethereal Light, whilst the Light flowed into the fox's body, granting it the energy it yearned for, the warmth it sought and the companionship it never had a chance to have.

"You are no longer alone," The Lightweaver's voice echoed throughout Vulpes' body, shaking her to her very core, "from now on, you will be one of us."

And the Light changed her. Swirling in harmony with the gloom that used to be part of her soul, the two contrasting energies coiled around her vulpine form like gentle vines, hardening her fur into crystalline scales, forming new bones sturdy as diamond from which gorgeous wings reflected the fiery side of her old appearance.

As the Light dissolved into her body, loose wisps of the fading magic gathered within her newly formed claw, solidifying into a single Pearl. The Pearl glistened like opal, showing off a plethora of colours under the Sun of the Lightweaver. Vulpes immediately understood the hidden message of the Lightweaver's actions, and once again began to travel, this time not to seek, but to give.
